What does 'make life richer' mean to you?
Sometimes, people just want delicious coffee. They don't want to know the elevation at which it was harvested, or read elaborate tasting notes. The goal at Upside is to share the best quality, in an accessible way. This brings the experience back to where we feel it should be: simply enjoying the flavour of what you're drinking.
How do you stretch yourself?
These days it is important to keep learning, as the world changes at a faster pace than ever before. Keeping up to date with the golden age of global coffee research and knowledge that we are currently experiencing, as well as marketing and tech developments is one of the most rewarding parts of the job.
What is your "go-to" coffee?
At work, I go straight to the Hario V60 filter brewer. It's a really accessible and low cost way to brew interesting coffees, one small batch at a time. The coffee I brew depends on the season, with most Central American's landing in before summer. East African's and Brazil's usually arrive towards the end of the year. Seasonal variety keeps things interesting!
